Hump Day Arrives again! Yay!

I've started getting the bus into town then a Metro to Regent Centre to up my chances of getting a bus, seems to be paying off, albeit still hit & miss. I think I may become hit and miss with my payments to them, see how the incompetent fuckwitts like them apples! Talking of Apples, now I'm out of contract with my iPhone, I'm left with
a dilemma. Do I upgrade now and get the iPhone 4S or hang on till the 5 comes out. I'm certainly not plumping for the Samsung. I'm more than happy with the Apple products I have and the OS's they have.

Busy, busy, busy at work! Grrrr. Time flies so more of a rrrr.

**Massive Rant Alert;
I bought Official Xbox Magazine. Fuck me am I disappointed with it now!! I have Feb's issue and starting from the back like I do, the 1st problem is the Article they've done on Dead Island - it's been out since September last year and they're only doing an article on it now?! I continue on hoping for no more lunacy until I go a further 5 pages to find they've done an review on MW3's online multiplayer!!! WTF??? The game's been out 4 month (almost half a year) and they're only now looking at how it fairs online? They assess the games online longevity by showing us a graph depicting the excitement garnered from 0 - 60 minutes of online play - after 4 months, fuck me, they not been playing it like??
I go a further 2 pages to find a section called THE BEST VALUE GAMES. Great I though, I'm into saving money and getting some longevity out of my games. However, of the 15 games 'reviewed' they slag 6 of them off calling them boring, tiring, repetitive, uneventful, uncomfortable, and dull. Wha??? Why the Hell say they're 'best value' if they're just going to say, 'yes, they are terrible games but they'll take an age to get through'????? I'd rather stare at my TV while it's turned off and save myself the money.**

Rant over although I'll not be buying that shite again.

At a mate's for tea & film tonight, watching Limitless. Couple of pints in Noire then a mixed kebab wrap for tea. Yummy. While waiting for tea, bought Xbox mag, see above rant!

Christ, it's cold here at my mate's - brrrrr. I remembered from last time and fetched my jumper and Fcuk cardigan. That's better.

Quite enjoyed Limitless. And my kebab. Kept some for lunch tomorrow - I'm gonna hum!

Quiet day for posting, mostly because I'm doing this late and also because it's just Tuesday and it's busy at work. Grrr

Tomorrow's Burns night but as I'm not at home, no haggis. I shall have that on Thursday. With neeps and tatties. Possibly.

Met Benson from work, Charles Gray for a couple of swifties. Good to catch up and more importantly, borrow £20 as I is skint. Till tomorrow.

Oh. My. Head. Thankfully my wallet is heavier than I expected. Ended up up at the end of the night at the dogs for the 1st time ever! Well, I had a fiver left at the end.

It's almost Chinese New Year. This year, it's the year of the Dragon, my birth year. I is Dragonised!

Double booked myself today but managed to slot all three appointments in so for Goodwin, it was a win win win - John and I went for lunch and a couple of pints to the Five Swans - apparently named after the statue at the Civic.
Then took my iPhone to get fixed/replaced only for them to tell me it's outside it's warranty so they couldn't do anything - why the fuck couldn't some tool at Apple have checked the serial number before now and saved me trying to get to two appointments?! Fuckwitts.

Went to the Orange shop to see when my upgrade's due. It's only due now innit??
iPhone 4S on Wednesday methinks! Or do I? Maybe the Samsung Galaxy SII? Or maybe wait for the iPhone 5? Decisions...

Met Rebecca for coffee at Costa, mmm. Then went to go to Trillians but it was shut?!
Decided on The Valley Junction or whatever it's called and sat n chilled with a few beers, shooting shit. Good time, good giggles.

Home in 15 mins, why can't Stagecoach get me home this quick at 5.30?!

BIRTHDAY DAY!

Woke up and checks me phone to see the time. It's 8am. Cool, but I have an update screen on my iPhone saying I have 9 posts on my Faceache wall. wtf? Why have I had 9 people post on my wall?? Checks and remembered it's my birthday innit!

Class, I'm 36 and, has Andy D has pointed out, over mid way to 70... thanks man.



Awesome start to the day though. Chilling watching BBC shorts on weird things like Caterpillars cocooning cars & trees, plagues of mice and parasites that look like large woodlice that love tongues. All while eating Special K and drinking whiskey coffee Rebecca made for me! Class.

Listened to Linkin Park while supping rum. Doesn't look like too bad a day out there but happy prancing round in me keggs.
Talking about living with other people and Rebecca tells me a story about her shat flaring experiences - I think she meant flat sharing haha.

$3 back but the same price whether I pay to Haymarket in town or Brunswick Lane. Eh? The two stops are over 3 miles apart. Apparently it's because they're in the same zone.... That mean if I travel from town to work it's free because they're in the same zone??

Although I didn't mention it to Andy as I didn't think he'd want to come, I regret not asking him now! Grrrr

Taxis to the Dogs although as it was up to me and I got it wrong we got there late and missed the free pint and free food. Gutted. Bought a burger and had to take it back as it was burned and got proper evils off the wifey, she had a face like a slapped arse. Bitch

A good night at the dogs. John ended up minted. Steve and Kim did well too and I came out about a fiver up. Not sure about the 'rents.

Birthday Tea Day!

Happy Day of Awesomeness!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I is excited for 2 reasons;
One, I am off to Rebecca's for birthday tea tonight.
Two, I'm taking the Family to Newcastle Dogs tomorrow.

Stagecoach have out-done themselves because for 2 days, that's 2, yes 2 days in a row they've managed a bus on time from home to town. Decided to take the scenic route once I was in town and got the Metro to Regent Centre. Might do this more often, more choice of connecting bus there and more to look at! Not a particularly exciting update but hey ho.

We've had an update at work, we're now going to get our payslips, get this, BEFORE we get paid! Oh Em Gee. Not that it makes any difference to me, I'll still be skint... sad face

Busy at grrrr - no gripe as it helps the day go quicker, I think! however, t'is Friday. Geed-up!

$3 to get to Rebecca's from work, Christ how FAR is it!? But, nice pad, and whatever's for tea, smells lush.

No TV? We'll have to sort that one out - if only I'd not sold me 32 " Sharp Aquos... d'oh!

Awesome Carbonara and a half baked attempt at a drinking game while watching Withnail & I. I got scared mid way through and decided I couldn't keep up. Quality night though. Tree-mend-dosa!

I'm venturing oop-North to Rebecca's for tea tomorrow, tres excited for my birthday tea, yay! And Rum. And a shots drinking game while watching 'Withnail & I'. This is gonna be messy.












In the Metro paper today, anti-obesity campaigners are slamming Tesco for making chocolate slightly cheaper. Go do one, bloody PC extremists. It's utter idiots like this that's turning this country into a nanny state. Grrr

Next they'll be saying that Asda are in the wrong for selling cheap lager. Oh hang on, they already have. Knob-jockeys...

Anyhoo, busy but quality day at woik. Forgot me lunch so my awesome Dad dropped into work with some Quavers, lush ham sarnies and a BANANA! Awesome.

Missed my appointment at the Apple store this evening as Arriva, the other fuckwitted public transport providers, decided to have the 5.20 bus go early and the 5.30 bus turn up late - AND, as per usual now, took the wrong route out of work. Don't they teach the drivers the route they're supposed to be driving?? Makes common sense, you'd think anyway. So no fixy-me-iPhone today then. Grrr. Booked another for Sunday but I know I'm going to regret it as I'll no doubt get just a teensy bit shit-faced on Saturday....

Effing Stagecoach bus did a no-show on way to work this am. Turned up eventually but half way into town, we pass the bus that was supposed to be there earlier on!!

iPhone broke today, went to Apple store to get replaced but nearly an hour to wait for an appointment at the Genius Bar so made another for tomorrow.

Skint today, not bad considering payday's not far off, so borrowed a tenner and got some bits n pieces in. Breed, meelsh and filter tips. Proper man's shop. haha

3 days from now I shall be 36. Doesn't feel too bad. Yet.
Looking forward to taking le famile et mon amis to le chiens on Saturday! Few drinks 1st in Noire probably.

Tell you what, living alone means there just aren't the hours in the day required to get everything done. Cleaning, dishes, cooking, bathing, Xbox, sleep etc. And that BEFORE I get into self flagellation etc! haha

Quality day at work, spent most of it 'offline' - donated blood this afternoon for the 1st time in almost 2 years too. My haemoglobin level was sufficient for a donation today! Yaaay! I'd previously been told to drink orange juice or water etc with food instead of coffee or even worse, tea. Stops the absorption of iron into your blood.

Ducked out of a game of Poker to get muckle noms going on me scran.
Jumped right back onto the top tier table, the Treble Diamond table & stupidly answered my phone. Me Ma', chatting about duvets and pillows. Got distracted, booted off the top table and down to the Double Diamond table. Grrr. My bad, I shouldn't have answered my phone.

Received Deus Ex in the post today, going to have to give this one a little time, played the 1st hour and although the story's great and the pace is good, the gameplay's a little slow and clunky. To be fair I've only played the tutorial level and then a quality cut scene welcomed me to the game proper. We'll see. Good thing about Boomerang is if I daint like it I send the game back & get another. Happy Face!

Might watch Sucker Punch on BluRay tonight, when this poker tourney's over.

Another day closer to celebrating my 36th birthday, which is Saturday the 21st if you're interested.

Mam's turkey & bacon fricassee for lunch, I'd have to say it's one of my favourite dishes. Delish!

Had a corking weekend, mainly playing Full House Poker, although if you've been reading this blog, you'll no doubt already know - more tomorrow night at 8pm GMT.



Got a haggis from my Mam. Need to figure out what to have it with! Any ideas, please comment - although if I wait for someone to comment it'll have gone off so I shall ask my dear and very helpful friend, Google

No Deus Ex waiting for me when I got in. Gutted.

Decided I'm gonna sit down with a cuppa and watch Attack the Block on BluRay - it was brilliant! Would highly recommend. On a different keel to Shaun but shot really well and the character interaction is really well written. Bravo.

Need to earn some more cash before I can join the next Tournament on Full House Poker. Which I nearly couldn't play tonight, Xbox Live was having a hissy fit when I 1st put it on. Sorted now though, the chips are now down. Bring it!

Sunday 15th Jan

Awesome night on Full House Poker last night on Xbox Live. Did quite well for my 1st tournament. Started at 8pm GMT and played through until 4am. Started off on table level 1 of 3, The Diamond Table then worked my way up to the Triple Diamond Table. At one point I was ranked 51 of 2500 people. Awesome!

Great fun! To be honest, didn't realise it was so late but time flies when you're having fun.

Had a bit of an awkward situation regarding the Toon match today. Got the tickets sorted a while back and originally had told Mike I'd take him. I took my Dad to the Swansea match last month (his 1st in a long time) and when we came out he was so excited said 'Eee, I love that me son's taken me to a football match, I can't WAIT for the QPR match in Jan! Eeee'

D'oh

I HAD told him I was taking Mike but was in such high spirits I left it and said nowt. Forgot all about it until the other by which time I was skint. Told Mike I couldn't make it and was about to tell Lee, who got me the ticket, when my Dad said I'll sort your beers n that out. Legend. Got to go to the match, eventually after Stagecoach managed to get a bus on (some passengers had waited over 40 minutes for a bus scheduled every 10 minutes. Useless to the extreme. To make make matters worse, the tool driving obviously had a full bus but decided to stop at each stop to tell passengers the bus was full and that he couldn't let any more on. THEY CAN SEE THE BUS IS FULL YOU HELMET, JUST KEEP DRIVING, THEY CAN SEE THE OTHER, EMPTY BUS BEHIND!!!!! Anyway, gripe over - we won!!! Geed up sausage!

Saturday 14th Jan

Only had 3 pints and a can of lager last night and I'm not feeling too grand today. Sad face. Must've been a dodgy pint haha

Still, was good to catch up last night.

Easy day today, decided against shopping for kitchen and bathroom stuff and instead popped into town for an hour to get out of the house. Bloody bagpipe 'player' on Northumberland Street again but at least this time he's 'playing' a different 'tune'. Still bloody awful tho...

Decided to get the whole Star Wars Collection in HD today. Can't wait to have a marathon session with those! Maybe tomorrow after the Newcastle QPR match at St. James Park - Dad's paying for the drinks as I am pink-lint. I sorted the tickets though so I feel that's fair.




Started to play Skyrim then realised it was the Weekly Tournament on Xbox live playing Full House Poker. All in all it was a good night, at my peak about an hour in, I was ranked 51 of 2500 players online. Chuffed to bits!

Oh and I joined Boomerang Game Rentals yesterday, Battlefield 3 on it's merry way to mine as we speak. 4 squid per month and I can keep one game at a time as long as I like. Me likey!

Great start to Friday the 13th. Got up this mornin to make mesell a rollie and nada, nothing, no sausages. Or dice.

Gripe of the day already; Women on the bus shouting as they can't hear one another. Because they've both got bloody ruddy great behemoth ear-muffs on! Grrr

On a better note, my Dad dropped me backy off at work. And fetched me a packet of tabs. Cheers fella!



He's obviously quite excited about one of the presents I got him, sorry, Santa got him, for Xmas.... I can tell because he keeps sending me pictures of him wearing his gym outfit with messages like 'I'm wearing this because my son bought it for me' - sarky bugger haha

I think he's rubbing my nose in it because I took a couple of things they got me, back to the shop... Jeans too small, can't wear leather watch straps and something else I canny remember.

Almost late for work again today as the conglomerate-of-utter-uselessness that is known as Arriva have decided, not unlike Stagecoach, to let their buses just turn up when they like. To make matters worse, the idiot drivers will turn up late, no excuses, just sit there with a face like a dogs arse then fcuk about with their Metro paper or something, then make a move, thus making us all late for work. Low-lives

Busy, busy, busy at work today, not a gripe of the day but an observation.

Linking in with a previous post, my disease has now spread via my boss, their bairn and now his wife.... uh-ohhh. Oops. suppose that's what I get for coming into work when I'm not well. In future, if I wake up with even a sniffle, I'm stopping off.

I'm enjoying doing this blog. Even if nobody reads the bugger I've mainly done this as an online diary anyway, so anyone reading it is a bonus, hopefully for them too haha.

I had a bit read thru last night and I had a bit of a chuckle!

Busy days require drugs. By drugs I mean legal ones, obtainable from work. Coffee people, we're talking coffee. Problem is, by this time of day (4:15pm) I'm climbing the walls, too, much caffeine....

Feel in particularly great spirits today! It might be because I've managed to shred that awful disease. But unloaded it onto someone else. I do feel slightly guilty because my boss at work was sick on Friday and now his little girl's not well....

Was at a good friends tonight for tea, she made me Chorizo paella! Yummy!
Pre-food drink was a turbo-shandy, not had one of them bad boys for years! Reminds me of some messy times living in Jesmond!
Tea was very nice and Final Destination 5 was class, then RudeRube, awesome funniness

A lethargic start to the day with brunch of bananas on toast sprinkled with sugar, of course, and a cuppa.

Was unsure of plans today but not heading over to Walker as my mate's decided to go furniture shopping! Been to Argos in town though as I always seem to have the urge/need to spend vouchers! Not paying their prices for video games... Nice to get out of the house though.

For tea, bacon sanger washed down with Douwe Egberts coffee mmm.

Bit of 'Band of Brothers' on Bluray then early night, school night and all.

Saturday 7th Jan

Late night on Full House Poker on Xbox Live (must remember on to enter one of the community tournaments!) so a gentle start to the day is in order!

Mixed grill was yummy apart from that Bacon Grill stuff which just tastes of greasy ham. I'm lovin' the Schwartz Spice Rack I got from my Mam & Dad for Xmas!

Still gutted I'm allergic to eggs though :o(

Tidying my bedroom after the renovating I discovered a box of old flyers and tickets from my hedonistic clubbing days of the early thru to late 90s - nostalgia. Hopefully get a pic up of my fave.

John popped over at lunchtime for a couple of beers and a catchup because, he said 'I've nothing better to do' - nice to know I come in handy sometimes! Must admit I did chuckle at John for forgetting what he was talking about while delivering a story on how he remembers stuff. Genius

New Youtube App on Xbox is quality as it means I can play my music through my home theatre system which is handy when I have company - Youtube on, beers open, kick back and relax. Queue Chase & Status in deafening 5.1 - mint! *sorry neighbours*

Watched Jimmy Carr's 'Being Funny' and although a little near the knuckle, the man's a comedic genius - he was washed down with further beers.

Rounded the night off with Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox till 4am, still loving the Riot Shield class.

Nice easy(ish) day at work today as it's Friday!
I love my weekends, not because I don't like my job, I do, I just love being able to do whatever I want to do. But that's for tomorrow...
