Hump Day Eve

Not a particularly warm day to start with today but I can tell Summer's coming, blossom on the trees, daisies starting to pop their little heads up. I'm so fuckin excited for Summertime it's making me quiver.

Things are looking up, I'm really starting to enjoy my trip to work - for some reason.... ;oD
Apart from an abysmal blip which I'm not going into, I'm really enjoying work and am not scared of the impending Year End business that's normally dreaded.

I'm eating much healthier, much to the disapproval of this little belly I seem to be cultivating but feels good so I'm happy! haha

Work was ok today, busy but fuck it, I'm there to work and if the time flies because it's busy then I don't care.

Polished off the pasta and meatballs for lunch that I made for tea last night. I'm getting back into cooking again and although it's hardly cordon bleu it's bloody delicious. Even loving the little fruit salads I'm making as part of me bait too. Part of my 5 a day! haha


Had a good day today so treat myself to some beers and a little Forza tonight. Music courtesy of Cypress Hill and Qemists. Awesome.

Not a bad morning but a tad cold like, but ho-hum, Summer's on its way - hoorah!

Downloaded The Qemists after hearing their schizzle on Forza last night, bliding tuneage!

Was a relatively late night so didn't get chance to make any bait up but I had some mash left over from Saturday. Hoyed that in a tupperware box with some beans. Was really nice actually although you can tell it's getting close to the end of the month!

Nice but busy day at work. Payroll Year End is deffo here like. I'm already looking forward to my week off in April!

Nowt planned apres travaille so pop to my mate's for a coffee. Really good to see her again. Should do so more often but for reasons I'll not bore you with, I'm not sure she'd want me over too much.

Home, bath ran while making tea. Meatballs in a tomato herby sauce topped with cheese and freshly ground black pepper and hoyed in the oven for 30 minutes. Divine if I do say so myself.

Stuffed now.

I've downloaded the 3rd season of Breaking Bad and also Super 8 but as it's almost 11pm I'll plump for a little Forza instead and watch something tomorrow night.

Blog's been a little bland/sparse/barren of late, apologies for that although it's only me that reads it so I should shut up right about n..

Will endevour to get back to posting properly, with daily pics too. But maybe tomorrow.

Mothers Day

Up nice and early, still titivating the new area of the lounge. Still not entirely sure what I'm going to do with it but it's made the lounge look so much bigger. Mint.

Off to the rent's. Mam loves her soppy-music-CD. And I love me lunch.

Late night on BF3 with the lads. After 'He Who Shan't Be Named Online' left, an old fave popped online - it was only the Bellies! Awesome

Not played online with Johnny5Bellies in bloody ages. Was awesome to catch up. Turns out he's getting married this year and his stag-do's up here in Newcastle. Be class to catch up again.

Decide to pop up to the rent's to see them before they go off to their Motown gig wor kid got them for Chrimbo.

Christ Almighty, Stagecoach manage to get a half hourly 32 bus on time today!! 1st time in a year! Looks like today might be a good day!

We all partake in a few vodkas at me Ma's. Nice this, few drinks and good company.

Bus into town. Forgot it's St. Patrick's Day - town is heaving with proper pissed people - it's only 1pm... haha

We decide to start off in The Valley, used to be Old Orleans. Some Amstels in there then off to the Gate. There's people 'stood' outside the Gate absolutely smashed!

I refrain from having a pop as I remember Dan and I being in a very similar state about a week earlier. Hehe

Into the Gate, we've missed Happy Hour at Opera Bar so plump for Lloyds.

As we walk in me Mam mistakes the sign pointing to the toilets upstairs and walks into the kitchen... class.

Was nice to be out with my Mam and Dad in town.


I leave them to go for a meal at Mamma Mia's and I head's off to Heaton Village to see the Bensonite and Shaw-thing.

Was good to see these guys too, been a while. Andy's business seems to be taking off and they've fitted their 1st kitchen. Got a good business model. I wish them all the best.

He's just gotten an internet TV on with a YouTube app. Bit like the Xbox but you can't sign in and it takes ages to search. Good laughs though and plenty beer. Mmmm Oranjeboom. Mmmmm


I decide not to stay at Andy's and venture off out to get the bus home - absolutely trollied. Not my favourite experience I can tell you. I'll stop over next time!

Happy Mondays people!

I say happy because I am. Like a pig in shite.

Not because I'm at work haha, but because I am beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel at last.

1. The joint-debt with an ex is almost sorted. Just one more year left and I will be able to start having a normal life again. It's been a long, long, very long and skint road!

2. I'm doing well at work, I'm looking forward to my bonus and pay rise this year!

Awesome night online last night. Might do the same again tonight. Nay, I will do the same again tonight. Once I get back from HMV getting the code sorted for MoH.

A little tired this morning, possibly because of the lager I had at 11pm to celebrate being freakin awesome at BF3!

Ham n mayo sanger for breakfast and proper coffee. Mmmm - great start to the day.

Not too busy a day either which is always nice on a Monday.

I think I may watch a film tonight, maybe Sucker Punch on BluRay that Steve lent me.

Then BF3 I reckon. Unless, like most days I get a game/party invite as I'm stepping through the front door! haha

I am busy making fish pie as I type this as well as building a well between the wheat farm and the brewery. Gotta keep the soldiers kept in beer!


I am of course playing Settlers! Cracking, free, browser game. Mint.


Went to HMV after work. Got a replacement but no compensation. "I've given you a replacement, what else do you want" was the manager's response. Fuckwitt.

Anyhoo, I'm too happy to complain any more. I've got the game I wanted and I was passing anyway. I wouldn't care, I'm probably not going to go online much anyway it was just the principle.

I'm having yet another slag of a tea, chicken nuggets, chips and beans. But I love it. Haha.

Tea done, watched Sucker Punch. Looks and sounds good but boy what a crummy story. Not my bag at all but I enjoyed the music and the scantily clad ladies. I'd have rather been in Karkand though, grrr.

Sunday Lunch at the Rent's

Early start again, love this kinda weather, all sunny and that. Makes me wanna get up and do stuff.

Started playing Settlers Online, quality! Forgot how good this game is.

If you've seen my Facebook rant, you'll know about that fuckin rat/dog/nuisance from downstairs. The little annoying blighter's been barking and whining for a day and a half now. I'm off out to escape the noise. I fancy popping to HMV anyway to see if I can spend my points - which I do. I manage to get Medal of Honor brand new. Mint.

Off up to sunny Wideopen for lunch in the sunshine with the rents.

Mince and leek dumplings for lunch, was lovely. Washed down with a few glasses of rose wine.

Dad and I put part of Marie, the next door neighbour's fence back up. She gives him £20 and says get yourself a bottle of wine. My Dad says he'll fetch the change back to which she replies just keep it. Much arguing ensues with me becoming £10 heavier in the wallet region. Mint.

Dinner settled and wallet heavier, back home. Mam has donated 2 lamps, some new cushions and I is a happy boy. The lighting in the lounge looks so much better now.

Well the flat's all tidy so a little Settlers while having a solo blast on Medal of Honor only to find the useless bastards at HMV have sold me a brand new copy of the game with no online code - this just adds insult to injury.

I can still play it online but minus the extras you get from redeeming a code.

I decide against the online and opt for the campaign. It's actually quite tidy.
A few levels in though and I'm feeling the pang for BF3 so I switch discs and I'm off.

And fuckin off I am, Christ. I have my best game to date.

Running around protecting Veterans' Retreat on me todd from 2 advancing squads. I run round the back of the building and take 3 of them by surprise, nabbing the dog-tags from one of them after slitting his throat then running round to the front of the building to the courtyard, shoot two more of them then jump in a 4x4 and drive off. I was promoted to squad leader from that moment, giving the order to attack the gas station, such immersion I've never experienced before. I bez over to the gas station, hop out of the 4x4, RPG an attacking tank, disable it, the guys get out then I nail the pair of them by sending another RPG at the tank blowing the pair of them rag-dolling into the sky. Two of my team-mates lie dying where the tank had been firing so I get the defibrillator out and resuscitate them both. The three of us jump into my 4x4 and fly round to the construction site that's getting taken by another tank.
I ditch the 4x4 with the guys in which distracts the guys in the tank long enough for me to RPG it from the side blowing it up. I then drop to the ground and take out two snipers on the third floor of the office block all while conquering the construction site - I LIVE FOR THIS SHIT!!!

Man, I'm gutted I gotta go to bed.

Bait made for tomorrow. I've plumped for ham n mayo sangers. Mmmm

Saturday!

Quality night online with 'He Who Shan't Be Named Online' - but today I fancy going it alone.

Up early, nice weather so I decide to go for a swim in the hotel pool in the Gulf of Oman. Lovely day for it so why not. Rhetorical question so no question mark.

Couple of hours and a smattering of achievements with lots of fun and a few beers thrown in to help.

Must start doing something constructive with my weekends so today I shall begin the decorating.

I've stripped the walls of wallpaper. Need tools though so call me Dad who loves this type of stuff and he wants to come down to help. What a difference a Dave makes. Mam comes down too. Awesome.

A fabulous day ensues which includes decorating, putting up a mirrored bathroom cabinet, loo-roll holder, two towel rails, a tumbler holder for me toothbrush etc and a soap tray. Looks mint. (the bathroom not the paste...)

Next up is the riving out of the cupboard in the lounge. What a job, bigger than I expected... Takes me and my Dad about 3 hours all together. There's enough wood from this cupboard to make a small house.

Lounge has doubled in size, or at least looks like it now.

All this done to the quality sounds of Bonobo and a little Morcheba, some tea was supped and some digestives digested.

Awesome.


Just need a little plaster work done then I can do the gloss in the lounge, do the ceiling then wallpaper the walls.

Then start the bedroom, then the hallway and that's the flat done.....

Mam buys me 20 tabs and some beers for to chill out with tonight, she's great. The best actually.

Really starting to feel like I have a home now. At the risk of sounding a little bit wet, it's quite emotional. Been a very, very long time since I've felt like this.

Decide against chilling but jump onto BF3 instead. Fantabulous.

Not too busy a day at work but all I can think about is getting online tonight. More specifically, Battlefield3

Am I becoming addicted? Possibly.

Is it becoming a problem? Of course not, not to anyone.
Will I stop playing if I get a girlfriend? Nah
Why am I writing this list? Because I like lists.

Off to HMV quickly c'est soir. Gonna try redeem my HMV points for MS points today and also trade a game in for beer and tabs for tonight - haha - the things you do.

But traded game in with 'He Who Shan't be Named online' - awesome, done deal. Beer and tabs for me it is then.

I'm not going to go on too much about BF3, again, but this shit's unreal. It's possibly a combination of a decent size (42") HDTV in a small lounge with a proper beefy 5.1 surround home theatre system but it's so immersive. Fuck brain rot 'prime-time' tv, this is where it's at. That is all.

Well shit the bath, it's almost here. The weekend has almost landed.

Tired n grotty from a late one last night, barely awake while getting ready. Bloody awesome blast online last night tho, I know I go on and on and on about it but Battlefield's genius immersion. EA and more importantly DICE want fuckin medals of honour for this shit like.

However tired I am, I care not. Payroll Year End training all day - whoo-hoo!

Not as easy a day as I might have liked as we have to practice tax and NI calculations. Being numerically dyslexic I struggled a bit. Well, I fell to bits. D'oh.

Still, got two 15 minute smoke breaks AND an hour for lunch so can't or mustn't grumble. I don't.

Training done. Out for 5 on the dot.

Off to HMV to buy MS points with my HMVPure points but they have none in. Grr. Resist the urge to squander my 'money' on GH Metallica and PGR4 and head upstairs to the BluRay section. Decide against getting a film or documentary as I download all my stuff in HD anyway so no real point.


Home for tea and maybe some poker.

It's a slag of a tea as Westy'd call it but she's my slag and she's now in my belly. The tea, not Westy haha.

Winds-Day

Ooff, after what I've eaten these last few days I thought the new term for Wednesday was rather appropriate. The term actually coming from Winnie the Pooh.

However, the people I've come into contact today may or may not realise that off aroma is actually me, not the manure they've been feeding the plants outside.

Breakfast was non existent as I was late getting up and ready, strange sleeping in someone else's spare room I guess. Good nights sleep though.

My mate's made me sandwiches for lunch today, and pork pies - ain't she a sweet - they're deliscious. Chicken and mayo, mmmmm. I snaffled a couple of packets of crisps from mine to so I had sandwiches, Doritos, Monster Munch and Squares and pork pies.

Aaaanyhoo. Busy day at work means I need to play hard. And play hard I did.

Battlefield3 tonight, after a nice bath obviously. Don't want to enter battle all dirty an that. Learned that from my NCO from 101st Royal Artillery Battalion in Gosforth Barracks.



Refreshed I hit the ground running or in tonight's case flying. Yup, I've managed to secure a SU-35BM FLANKER-E fighter jet. AND I manage to get a couple of kills in. Then crash n burn. I'm getting there though.

Switched to sniper once the squad leader had positioned a spawn beacon on top of a mahoosive crane. Off to the East we're getting sniped at by a cheeky bugger on an aircraft carrier. So he gives the command to 'put his lights out' - I try but my rifle's scope isn't powerful enough to spot him properly. So I take out a chopper pilot flying past instead. Mint.

Back on the ground, I spend about an hour following said squad leader, whacking him with the defibrillators every time he gets killed after I've knacked the guy that killed him of course - saviour ribbons flying in left right and centre here like!

Late so bed. More of this shit tomorrow I reckon, amazing stuff, so immersive - I fail to understand why people are still playing COD I really do.

Frosties and proper coffee for brekkie, I'm loving this proper coffee. Hat's off to He Who Shan't Be Named Online for putting me onto this!

Busy but nice day at woik. Nice possibly as the sun's shining! Sweet.

Tesco Sausage n Beans for lunch. Sandwich made from the sausages, awesome. There's a shed load of sangers in these tins - mint!

Maplins after work to get Maz n Allan their optical cable. Jen gave me a lift into town as I was stuck in a call and I get to Maplin's at 5:58 - they shut at 6:00 - phew! Cable works but is too short for them so we does a swapsies.

Forgot to go to HMV to get my MS Points... grrr (gripe?)

Home, quick change, drop cable off (no pun intended there) then off to a mate's for tea. An awesome tea of lamb chops, chips and chorizo paella. Mmmmm (not the CTD tune tho, oh no)

Start playing Chess With Friends. Not sure why, I HATE chess. not going to beat Tracey at this although as I'm kicking her ass on Words and Scramble with Friends, I feel she may be liking the fact that she'll kick mine on this, or lick as Shannon would say haha

Whiskey marmalade on toast. Love this stuff. Just hope I'm not over the limit for getting the bus to work...

Had a polite word with a charva to remove his dirty feet from a bus seat just to be told "Fuck off", charming... then ... karma bit him on the arse as I and the rest of the passengers laugh out loud at him for dropping and smashing his iPhone as the bus pulled up at a stop... pmsl

For lunch, the 2nd half of yesterday's pork stir-fry. Beef Monster Munch and a banana for pudding. Pudding, lol.

While out for a cigarette on my break, I spot a rabbit & a crow fighting over a bit of food!! WTF?

At the rent's for tea, spaghetti & meatballs. Washed down with a little vodka. :o)

Battlefield3, awesome night interrupted by needing to go to bed, grrr.

Shopping

Up nice and early again, don't want to waste the morning lying in bed.

Up, breakfast of Frosties and Battlefield3 online. Might jump back onto the campaign again soon, I miss it.

Decided against watching the Newcastle Sunderland derby as I have a feeling we'll loose. :o(

Instead, I decide to go to Tesco. A 5 minute walk from mine. Enjoyed my trundle around the mahoosive shop, plenty to keep me busy - not really done a full proper shop on my own, 36 and never been and done a proper shop before! haha

Did me shop but overestimated my strength and am unable to carry all of my shopping more than 5 foot before crumpling into a heap on the path.

Super-Dave, my Dad, to the rescue. When he gets here he reminds me that I'd asked for a coffee percolator so we nab that, and a new Minky ironing board - £25! - then head back to mine.



Coffee maker is mint, yummy aromatic proper coffee. The flat smells amazing. So much so I decide to cook myself a nice meal of pork stir-fry and fresh, crunchy vegetables and steamed wild rice - just to add to the aroma of Maison de Spartacus.



Got asked to set up the surround sound system at Allan's but couldn't get it sorted - I think Maz's gonna be able to do ot - phew.
Tried getting the tv hooked up too but the bracket holding the TV on the wall has come off so no TV on the wall for them tonight! And the HDMI cable's knackered so no TV at all, gutted for them - offered for them to come and watch me play Battlefield3 online but they decline.


Watched more Breaking Bad today, this mo-fo is such a bad ass now I'm scared of him myself! haha

Might stop the shortlists at the foot of my blog as they're already contained in the body of text - anyone reading care to comment? Anyone reading? Anyone? Hello? No? Just me then? haha

It's Saturday man!

Up early. Nice.

Weather's good so going to venture out. Once I've unpacked my new kitchen set. Pots, pans, cutlery, knives, the whole kit and caboodle. Also, bathroom stuff like towel rails and a nice posh chrome mirrored bathroom cabinet. I is happy monkey.

Some nice tunes are in order with all this nice weather. High Contrast. With a beer. While I get ready to head Heaton-wise to see Bensonite and Heatonians.

Few beers there then home for Poker or Forza. Oh, or maybe, just maybe Battlefield3.

Friday is here at fcukin last! Phew, what a fuckin week!

Right, nice easy day at work - I didn't get the sales secondment I went for but I'm not bitter at all. I just won't speak to Stu now. Maybe haha

Was going to go for a pint with Dan after work but my bank manager won't let me, dick.

Sooo, what to do? John's suggested we go to the pub. Who am I to argue when he's paying?

Off to his to see something safe. His safe actually, class.

Then, the Mile. Awesome few beers. Random lass outside said she needed warming up, declined my jacket as it was too big so I offered her a beer. But what she heard was 'burr' - "What's a burr?" She asks, much hilarity ensues as I try to say the word beer. Seriously, I struggled haha
She also questioned why John and I were talking about bathrooms till we educated her. He's a heating installations engineer who sometimes plumbs bathrooms in.

We leave the group when she mentions her mate going out with a 21 year old lad as being 'too old' - Christ haha

Home, Battlefield3, made some friends and also joined Solo (Alex in real life) on BF3 - not a bad player although I think the other guy in our squad must've been stoned because he was terrible and all he did was eat crisps while we played - for 2 hours!

Flicks Day

Yay, today has come! Off to the flicks with John. Won two tickets to see John Carter, in in 3D, at the HD IMAX in Metrocentre. Brilliant.

Pork 'Sunday' lunch, in a stottie at work. Awesome.

Had my interim APR meeting yesterday with the gaffer. I'm on track, awesome!

Went to Metrocentre with John, got there a little early so had a pint of Peroni.


Film was great, experience was immense. Good night all round - apart from having to allow some security firm to confiscate our phones when in the film!! In case we videod anything.... it was in 3D so would've been all blurry... knackers haha.
